From Fundraising to the Promotion of the GLAM institution : experiences of the Bosniac Institute – Adil Zulfikarpasic FoundationDemonstration

The Bosniac Institute holds collections of BH cultural history: Art collection with over 1500 art works by BH artists, Ethnological collection, Numismatic collection, Library and Archive (with over 200 000 units), Oriental manuscripts collection (750 codices). One of its premises is a restored Gazi Husrev-beg Hammam, a public bath from the 16th century.
The Bosniac Institute is very unique instittution, it is gallery, library, archive and museum. It is established in Zurich 1988 by Adil Zulfikarpasic and his wife Tatjana, and opened in Sarajevo 2001. It is funded by Foundatioon of Adil Zulfikarpasic, and also, through own activities (renting of infrastructure), and through developing different projects of cultural and historical heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Through demonstration “From Fundraising to the Promotion of the GLAM institution : experiances of the Bosniac Institute – Adil Zulfikarpasic Foundation” we would like (Narcisa Puljek-Bubric and Amina Rizvanbegovic Dzuvic) to present complete action and process of implementing activities of one cultural institution. At the first level we would be focus on fundraising, and describe our experiences how we are connected to the donors, through which channels.
Second level of the demonstration would be presentation of our project “Our Heritage : hear and learn” which we implemented for the blind and visually impaired persons in using new communication tool – audio guide.
Third level of the demonstration would be present our activities in the promotion of the Bosniac institute. This activity is connected with the new technologies, using open and free sources for promotion, like MailChimp and share our experiences about other free and open sources which we tried.
Also, we would like to presen our other activities which we implemented during the project “Sarajevo at the crossroads of the world” where we had opportunity to experience different approaches in providing accessibility to our visitors through new technologies. Examples are: connecting visitors with the objects through QR code; create audio-tour through Sarajevo etc.
